It is a fact that Baloch people were not treated fairly and Baluchistan was considered as a colony by other provinces. Military action started in Baluchistan when Ayub Khan was the President and it was repeated by Zulfiqar Bhutto, Zia-ul Haq Benazir, Nawaz Sharif and Musharaf. The turning point was in 1973 when an elected Government of Atta-ullah Mengal in Baluchistan was dismissed when he preferred to employ local people on Government jobs in particular the Police department which consisted of 99 % of non Baloch and Non Pathans. Our Politicians, leaders and intellectuals must be Blind and deaf if they cannot see the serious situation in Baluchistan, I wonder if they realize that a full scale revolt may happen any time which will be certainly followed by foreign intervention. It is horrifying and upsetting to see a father in Quetta talking about the brutal and dreadful l killing of his son by Intelligence or rangers and explaining the mutilation and huge signs of torture on his son's body and a grieving sister who is not sure if her brother is still alive. Chief Justice Iftikhar Choudhry who grew up in Quetta is not taking much interest either, I think he has power to summon Army Chief and ISI Chief to his court for explanation. If he can make a board for Memo-gate then he can make a high powered inquiry board to scrutinize the missing people and killings in Baluchistan. I think we must wake up before it is too late.
