This song was written, recorded, mixed, and published in one day. My name is Matthew Otto (OTTO), and I completed 366 songs in 366 days from July 01, 2009 to July 01, 2010. More information about "A New Song Every Day" at: www.anewsongeveryday.com or just listen to other videos. I tried experimenting with different genres of music, so hopefully you'll find something you enjoy. Each song has between 10-40 tracks and uses a variety of instruments (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard/synth/midi, vocals, acoustic and electronic drum rhythms, harmonica, banjo, dulcimer, xylophone, etc). Each week (7 songs) was packaged as an album with original art and a common theme, and those on the mailing list were sent free music weekly. Despite a visit to the ER, a 3am trip to Wichita Falls to compete in a 100k bike race, fighting creative fatigue, working part-time, holidays, and a variety of other challenges throughout the year I never missed a single midnight deadline for 366 consecutive days. I was responsible for all of the web design, album artwork (with the assistance of my wife, Carly), music (with the exception of 10-15 days collaborating with guest musicians), and other things associated with this project. Each recording session was streamed live, and I kept a daily journal to chronicle the creative and technical processes.
