In episode 905 the crew on the Satellite of Love is once again subjected to British blandness. In The Deadly Bees a popular singer is sent to the country to recuperate from the exhaustion of lip-synching to bad 60's songs while wearing huge fur coats (the poor thing). Unfortunately she finds herself in the middle of an intricate and potentially "explosive" war between bee-keepers (yes, the excitement is riveting) of whom one has managed not only to create a new strain of killer bees, but has also managed to bottle the smell of fear which he then continuously feel compelled to smear in the weirdest of places in order to get his bees to kill his rival and the very blond singer -- either that or he's trying to sell it as a new Calvin Klein fragrance... Oh, and he also invented an unbelievably annoying noise... It's difficult to actually describe the amount of non-excitement in this movie. Actually, the most exciting things to say about this sleep inducing atrocity is our hero's ability to set fire to things and further endanger herself and the incredibly loveless marriage between a bee-keeper and his chain smoking wife. Yes, British cinema of the 60's apparently equalled riveting non-action and semi-alcoholic, life hating boredom. Fun Fact -- Frank Finlay who plays HW Manfred can also be seen in The Longest Day, The Wild Geese, The Three Musketeers and other much better movies and got an academy award nomination for his role in Othello in '65 opposite Laurence Oliver.
