Animal- Neon Trees ----- It happened as if it were in slow motion. He turned around ever-so-slowly, making her more and more anxious to see his face. He was tall, dark, and handsome. Very handsome, indeed. "He's your type, right?" her father nervously whispered. Subconsciously smiling, I nodded in response. Could this really be happening? Am I on some twisted reality show, she thought. Her father discreetly left her side, leaving her around with this handsome stranger. "So you work with my dad, huh?" Selena asked, rocking on her toes. This is kinda sad, but also uplifting :) : : : : : Selena ran through the hospital hallways, worried sick to her stomach. Nick was trailing behind with Piper wrapped up in his arms. When they received Joe's desperate call in the middle of the night, they immediately got out of their slumber and headed to the hospital right away. "Room 408!" Nick called out after speaking to a nurse. "408!" Piper copied, giggling into his chest. Nick put on a smile for her, hiding the true fear from showing on his face. : : : : : "Oh, Dems!" Selena cried, her voice reaching a high note. She rushed over to Demi, too speechless to say anything. She held her tightly, then released her, fearing it would be too much for her body to handle. Once she let go, she quickly rushed over to Joe and cupped his face in her small hands. "I'm so terribly sorry, Joe." she whispered softly before kissing his forehead. Her heart monitor was racing wildly as two nurses rushed her to the emergency room. "Joe!" she yelped, tears running down her cheeks. She couldn't find his face among the sea of people before her. "Joe!" she cried louder. She flung her arms out, pushing the nurses away. "Miss, please calm down." one of the women said. "Where's Joe?!" she continued to yell. She was helpless, like a little child. She was lost and frantic. Only Joe could calm her down. "He's here. You just need to calm down, and we'll let you see him as soon as you do that." She flopped back onto the gurney, giving up. She quietly sulked as tears continued to pour out from the rims of her eyes. ===================================== Half an hour passed by. Joe was pacing back and forth, waiting for Demi's doctor to show up with some kind of news. "Excuse me, mister?" a soft voice asked. His head snapped up with anxiety. Then he realized it was only a small, frail woman in her mid-sixties. "Yeah?" he asked, tapping his feet impatiently. "I'm not a doctor, sweetie, but shouldn't you get that those cuts looked at?" she asked hesitantly. He looked down at his hands, multiple cuts aligned with scarlet.
