Just been looking through some of my archived video footage from the past year or so and found this. The event was called Terrain Multicultural Contemporary Dance Festival and was held here in Melbourne. Arnold Djunbiya and Jonathon Mirrwatnga took up Indigenous dance residencies for 2 weeks and collaborated with Victorian dance practitioners, including students from Northlands Secondary College, to produce this show. This video clip has been heavily edited to bring it down to a manageable size. The end part is interesting with Mirrwatnga and Arnold playing yidaki at the same time... this doesn't happen in proper Yolngu ceremony of course, well, not quite like this anyway. The 2 yidaki in use were borrowed from iDIDJ Australia along with pairs of clapsticks and long wooden spears for the performance.
