EAVA FM's weekly police update on 24th January was done by Inspector Bill Knopp from Spinney Hill Park Police Station. At the start of the interview Inspector Bill Knopp wanted to send a get well message to his colleague, Inspector Rick Basra who has Leukaemia. There were a series of events that took place where people could be tested to see if they were a match for a bone morrow transplant, they eventually found a match in Germany, where inspector Rick Basra as had the transplant and is resting at home. These events helped to raise awareness in the South Asian community and all of us here at EAVA FM would like to say a big get well soon. The latest news from the Police is that crime in Leicestershire area has fallen by 11.2%, with reduction in Burglary down by 16.2%. Saying that there was a string of burglaries within one night on the same road and some of the belongings stolen were jewellery, cash and electronics.
